Originating from Canada, Conjure One was formed
in 2001. It is a solo project of
ex-Front Line Assembly & Delerium member
Rhys Fulber. In the past he has
worked with the likes of Fear Factory, Sarah
MacLachlin, P.O.D., and
Sarah Brightman just to name a few. Rhys describes
the Conjure One project as
"the most from the heart work I have produced
so far"
The first highly anticipated self-titled
debut album showcases such guest female
vocalists as Poe, Chemda, Marie Claire D'Ubaldo,
and Sinhead O'Connor.
The follow-up CD titled 'Extraordinary
Ways' was released in 2005. Conjure One
weaves trance-like structures, pop conventionalities,
emotional epic symphony mixed
with dramatic electronic beats and tribal
elements. In a Nutshell, Furber has captured
the romantic myth of mysterious foreign lands.
As Rhys says it himself, "The goal was
to make cool, world-influenced songs without
the constraints of a specific genre. As an
artist, you're always grateful for the support
of your core fans, but at the same time
you want to stretch and reach a broader audience.
To create something that everyone
can get into is music in its purest form."
By the sounds heard on the first 2 CDs, his
goal was no doubt achieved.
